The Outrage ROI Calculator
Every investment deserves an annual review. The Office of Fiscal Regret has prepared one for the time you spend disagreeing with strangers, a portfolio most people manage without ever opening the statement.
Enter honest estimates. The arithmetic is ordinary and shown in full. Nothing you enter leaves this page.

What the hours could have been
The Office does not suggest any of these are better uses of time. It simply notes that they tend to end.
Each figure is your annual hours divided by the stated length, rounded down to whole items. These are round assumptions, not research.
The arithmetic, in full
- Prep time is counted once per argument, separately from time spent in the thread.
- Each return visit is counted as 1 minute.
- A year is counted as 52 weeks.
- Opportunity cost is what the hours would be worth at the hourly value you entered. It is not money you have lost. It is time you have spent.

“Nobody is asking you to stop disagreeing with people. We are asking you to look at the invoice.”
